The place: You can find this restaurant nestled into the gay clubs and bars on Silom Soi 4, but it doesn't necessarily identify as one of them. Rather, the Tapas Room is known for throwing one of the hippest weekend dance parties in Bangkok. Think three floors, three DJs spinning different tunes and a winding staircase connecting it all. The décor makes it look like something out of an elegant European area, especially on the terrace outside with a heavy, elaborately carved door and wicker chairs. Each floor has lots of lounging chairs and exotic fake plants. On the second floor, the round bar is smack dab in the middle of the room and that keeps the party revolving around. Tapas may sound big, but it actually doesn't have much space. So on a crazy night, it's hard to move let alone breathe in here. Nonetheless, this club is known for it's ability to get everybody on the floor, dancing up a storm. They play electronic, house and techno music but often there's someone playing on bongo drums making a mad beat overtop. That's the kind of twist that keeps people coming back for more.

The crowd: It's a very diverse crowd at Tapas from expats to Thais. All of them are party people, and the crowd can even vary from 20-somethings to a more mature crowd.

Food and drink:
Tapas has wines and spirits, but it's known for serving up a mean jug of slushy alcohol drink. The kamikaze is well-known for being blue and giving a brain freeze, but there's many other flavors.
