By: Talk Bangkok
Thailand received exciting news when the Federation International de Philatelie (FIP) named Bangkok as the 2013 host for the World Stamp Exhibition, reports the People's Daily. The destination was chosen in order to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the launching of Thailand's first stamp.

This will be the fourth time that Bangkok, sometimes referred to as "Stamp City" will be hosting the event, which will feature more than 2,000 collections. This includes the personal collection of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

This year's theme will be "Art and Happiness" and will showcase artwork related to stamp collections from around the globe. The total valuation of the stamp collections to be displayed at the Siam Paragon-based exhibition will be upwards of one billion baht. The exhibition will be on display from August 2nd to the 14th.
